Ryan Day has struck again on the recruiting trail, this time with a commitment from Jordan Hancock. Until earlier this week, Hancock was committed to Clemson.

Jordan Hancock Makes Commitment to the Buckeyes

This news doesn’t come as a surprise. As soon as Hancock decommitted from Clemson on Tuesday, speculation began right away that he would soon be committing to Ohio State.

In Hancock, Ohio State is getting the 77th-ranked player nationally, and the sixth-ranked cornerback, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Ohio State is also getting a cornerback with really good length, standing at 6’1″ and a guy that combines that size with great ball skills. Hancock is also a very physical cornerback and that’s something that should continue at the next level as he continues to add weight to his frame.

Hancock is also coming from playing against some of the top competition in Georgia, which is a very strong state for high school football.

Don’t be surprised if he ends up rising in the composite rankings before all is said and done.

Looking at Ohio State’s Class

Ryan Day is in the middle of building a historic class in the 2021 cycle. All you really need to know is how even with how good Hancock is, he’s the 10th-ranked commit of their 19.

They have the number one class in college football by a huge margin and that margin just grew even more with this commitment.

Ohio State currently has four five-star commitments of their 19, and it’s still looking like they could end up with two more five-star prospects before the rankings are finished.

Hancock also joins Jakailin Johnson as the other four-star cornerback to be committed at the moment, so the Buckeyes are going to continue to churn out defensive backs, it would appear.
