At the start of the week Arizona State was off to a slow start in recruiting but following a commitment from Junior Alexander, they suddenly find themselves in a good spot. This is also following a commitment from four-star athlete Tommi Hill on Wednesday.
Junior Alexander Makes Commitment to Arizona State
The first thing that stands out when you watch the film for Alexander is his size. He’s listed at 6’3″ but the way he plays makes him seem even taller than that. On top of that, while not being the fastest receiver by any means, he runs really smooth and has deceptive speed, especially after the catch.
Alexander is also a big-time redzone target. His size is the obvious reason for that and you can see the development as a redzone target in his jump from 10 to 24 touchdowns this past season.
The Sun Devils have been heavy on big-bodied receivers over the years. That’s something that has spanned multiple different head coaches and coaching staffs. Alexander fits in perfectly with that.
Looking at Arizona State’s Class
As mentioned, it’s been a big week for the Sun Devils. They started out the week ranked 77th in the 247Sports composite rankings. But following the commitment from Tommi Hill and this commitment, they are now all the way up to a tie for 59th with Miami (OH).
With Arizona State looked poised to go on a little bit of a run here, it’s not going to be surprising if they find themselves around the 30s fairly soon. They only have 10 commits, so it will take a little bit more. However, they now have two four-star commitments, and racking up a few four-stars can shoot a program up the rankings pretty quickly.
