It’s another week and Oregon has picked up another commitment from a big-time prospect, this time in the form of four-star tight end Terrance Ferguson out of Littleton, Colorado.
Anytime a four-star prospect commits to a school it’s a big deal, but this one is especially important given that Oregon came into this recruiting season needing to get a commitment from at least one tight end and more than likely two.
They already have a commitment from Moliki Matavao, who is the fourth-ranked tight end nationally in the 247 Sports composite, and now they are adding Ferguson, who is the 12th ranked tight end nationally.
Ferguson has great size standing at 6’5″ and weighing 230 pounds, according to his 247 Sports profile. He is also a supreme athlete and in Oregon’s offense that likes to use a lot of two tight end sets, he will certainly be able to come in and compete for a role in the offense early.
With this commitment Oregon jumps from 8th to 6th in the national rankings for the 2021 class and this gives them 15 commitments, with 10 of those being four-star prospects. Assuming both tight ends that are now committed sign their letters of intent and end up at Oregon, the coaching staff in Eugene has already addressed one of their top needs in this class in a big way.
And with the current hot streak that Oregon has been on, look for more commitments to come down in the next month or so.
