Brandon Buckner Commits to Oregon

Oregon has gone into the state of Arizona and pulled in another recruit, this time in the form of three-star outside linebacker Brandon Buckner.

While being ranked exactly 1000th in the country, Buckner is a top-ten player from the state of Arizona in the 247 Sports composite rankings and is coming off of a junior season in which he had 16 sacks.

What brings Buckner’s overall national ranking down is his size. He is only 6’1″ 234 LBS playing outside linebacker, which could result in him being a bit of a “tweener.”

With that said, this coaching staff has shown that they are able to scout the players they want and develop those players regardless of star rating.

Notably, Bucker also held offers from Arizona, Arizona State, and Colorado.

This is the 10th overall commit in the 2021 class for Oregon, and some serious momentum is starting to be built for the 2021 class as they are now up from 15th nationally to 11th. And they are still securely in the top-ten nationally when it comes to per commit rating.
