Monday was the 2019-2020 National Hockey League’s trade deadline. Teams from all around the league were quick to make trades, we even got to see some blockbuster moves be made. But beneath all that noise and chaos are teams like the Los Angeles Kings, who have been slowly dismantling the team by trading older veterans in exchange for prospects and draft picks.
Most recently, Los Angeles has traded defensemen Derek Forbort to the Calgary Flames in exchange for a 4th round pick unless the Flames make it to the conference final of which he plays in half of, or if he gets re-signed by Calgary, will the Kings then receive a 3rd round pick in the upcoming draft instead of the 4th rounder.
Conditions for Forbort. 4th round in 2021. If the Flames make it to the conference final and he plays in half the games or if they resign him it becomes a 3rd rounder in 2022. LA retains 25 percent of his Salary.
