Three-star quarterback Micah Bowens out of Bishop Gorman High School in Vegas has committed to Penn State.
Bowens is exactly what Penn State wants out of a quarterback. He has a very strong arm, can throw on the run and he has blazing speed that makes him a threat to pull the ball down and make a big play with his feet or for him to run an option and be a big-time threat to take it to the house at any given time.
The Nittany Lions got four-star quarterback Michael Johnson Jr. in last years class and he plays a pretty similar style to Bowens, which is both the style that Penn State likes and are fairly similar ways to the way that Trace McSorley played during his Penn State career.
Johnson Jr. and Bowens are likely going to compete at some point for the Penn State starting quarterback job in the next couple of years, which should be an interesting battle because they are similar players and can both make huge plays with their arms and with their feet.
