Ed Orgeron is working on trying to make LSU play as elite of defense as anyone in college football and just two days after landing sleeper defensive tackle Jordan Berry, the Tigers have pulled in a commitment from four-star defensive end Alec Bryant out of Pearland,Texas
With a slender frame at 6’3″, 230 pounds, the name of Bryant’s game is speed. He has an incredible first step off the edge that he uses to get around tackles and in his film he’s shown the ability to play inside and use his quick first step to beat guards to get to the quarterback. That’s something that will be harder to do at the college level until he puts weight on, but he has at least put on tape that he has the versatility that defenses covet with the way offenses are run these days.
Berry also has very long arms that help him keep blockers from getting attached to him as he’s able to put one arm on a blocker while he’s rushing the passer and use that to his advantage to get himself into the backfield.
LSU continues to recruit like monsters in the early part of this cycle as with this commitment they have passed Alabama and now have the number one overall recruiting class for the 2020 recruiting year.
