Giants vs Colts
Indianapolis had one bad week against the Jaguars, but other than that they’ve been very good the second half of the season and while the Giants are playing better as of late, I think the Colts will be too much in this one and they will come out with a real sense of urgency with big playoff implications on the line.
Texans vs Eagles
Nick Foles was able to lead the Eagles on the road last week to a win over the Rams in Los Angeles and based off of what happened last season it’s hard not to start thinking something similar couldn’t happen again. I don’t quite think it will and the Texans are trying to wrap up an AFC South title and this banged up Eagles secondary will struggle to stop the Texans passing game.
Jaguars vs Dolphins
Miami is one of the weirdest teams in the league and I have a very hard time getting a read on them, even this late in the season. They are at home for this one and I do feel comfortable saying the Dolphins are the better team and Jacksonville has seemingly mailed it in for the season.
Packers vs Jets
This game has absolutely no playoff implications, but Aaron Rodgers is going to play instead of sit out the final two games, plus they’ve looked better with Joe Philbin as the interim coach.
Bengals vs Browns
Cleveland has been on fire since Gregg Williams took over the reigns in Cleveland and with this being a home game and with the way the Bengals have been playing of late, I fully expect another Browns win.
Buccaneers vs Cowboys
There’s no way I expect the Cowboys to look as bad again this week as they did last week in Indianapolis, especially against this bad Buccaneers defense. I also expect the Cowboys front to really get after Jameis Winston and force multiple interceptions.
Vikings vs Lions
Detroit is a mess at this point of the season and although they are hosting this game it’s hard to see them winning with Minnesota needing wins to get into the playoffs and with the way the Vikings looked better on offense a week ago.
Bills vs Patriots
New England has of course lost two games in a row, but they don’t lose home games to divisional rivals, they don’t lose games to rookie quarterbacks and they certainly don’t lose at home to rookie quarterbacks. Now New England hasn’t looked as good on offense in the past month as we’re used to, and I think the Buffalo defense can keep them in the game, but I’d be blown away in New England lost this game.
Falcons vs Panthers
This is one of the rare games on Sunday that has no playoff implications so there’s really no reason to tune in unless you’re a fan of either team. Cam Newton isn’t going to play for Carolina after they decided he would sit out the rest of the season. The Carolina offense was already abysmal and now with Taylor Heinicke taking snaps, I think the Falcons will be able to get a win here.
Bears vs 49ers
I personally think the 49ers used everything they had left in the tank when they beat the Seahawks last week and facing this Bears defense will be an extremely tall task. The Bears have a ton to play for, because although they’ve clinched the NFC North, they still have a first-round bye to potentially play for so they can’t afford to let one slip away.
Rams vs Cardinals
I don’t care about the way the Rams have looked the last couple weeks. The Cardinals are probably the worst team in football right now so this one should be as much of a cake walk for Los Angeles as there ever is in the NFL.
Steelers vs Saints
This one has the potential to have a lot of points scored, but the last few weeks the Saints have really been struggling on offense and have been carried by their defense, plus the steelers won in that same fashion last week against New England. I really could see this game going either way, but I think New Orleans gets the win because they have the chance to wrap up home-field advantage and they are back in the Superdome for the first time since Thanksgiving Night.
Sunday Night Football
Chiefs vs Seahawks
This is a really interesting matchup because Seattle is very good on defense going against what is of course one of the premier offenses in the league. Seattle is trying to finish off getting the number five seed in the NFC playoffs and a win here would be huge. I see this one coming down to the wire, but I think the Chiefs will be just explosive enough to come out and get a tough road win in a tough environment.
