Previewing Sunday’s Games

My picks going into this Sunday’s game, including the Cowboys’ Thursday Night win over the Saints, is 110-65-2.

Early games

Ravens vs Falcons

Atlanta is a much better team at home with all of the injuries they have, and that should play a big factor, especially with Lamar Jackson set to make another start for the Ravens. There are also some key injuries to the Ravens on defense and I think all of that will lead to the Falcons being able to get a home win.

Pick: Falcons

Bears vs Giants

Mitchell Trubisky isn’t quite back yet for the Bears so it’ll be Chase Daniel again, but on Thanksgiving against the Lions Chase Daniel looked pretty good. The Giants showed they are still not a good team when they gave the game away to the Eagles. The Bears should be able to take their defense into New York and pick up a win here.

Pick: Bears

Bills vs Dolphins

Ryan Tannehill was back last week for the Dolphins against the Colts and they looked better. Now they get to play at home against a Buffalo team they should be able to beat. The Bills did beat the Jaguars last week, but the Jaguars season has gone completely off the rails and Josh Allen still wasn’t impressive through the air.

Pick: Dolphins

Broncos vs Bengals

Denver saved their season last week when they were able to beat Pittsburgh at home and now they’ve lucked into playing the Bengals when Jeff Driskel will be starting after the injury to Andy Dalton. I’m not expecting anything from Driskel and it wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see him throw for about 75 yards. I don’t think Denver is that great, but this game is set up perfectly for them

Pick: Broncos

Rams vs Lions

Despite this game being a road game for the Rams, it shouldn’t be close. Detroit is still pretty banged up on offense and there’s just no way with their mediocre defense that I see them being able to keep up with the explosiveness of the Rams coming off of a bye. Los Angeles should pretty much be able to do whatever they want.

Pick: Rams

Colts vs Jaguars

The Colts have just been finding ways to win and I don’t see that ending this week. The Indianapolis offensive line has been really good and as a result Andrew Luck has been having a really impressive bounce back season. With the dysfunction of the Jaguars at the moment it’s tough to see them winning this game with the way these two teams have played.

Pick: Colts

Browns vs Texans

This is the most intriguing game of the early slate to me. The Browns have looked pretty good since they got rid of Hue Jackson and of course the Texans have won eight games in a row. The Texans defensive front was dominant Monday Night against Tennessee and I think they’ll be able to fluster Baker Mayfield enough to force some turnovers and those turnovers will make all the difference in a close game.

Pick: Texans

Cardinals vs Packers

If you weren’t quite sure how bad the Cardinals were, they gave you all the evidence you needed last week against the Chargers when they went up 10-0 and then lost 45-10. They are absolutely terrible and even though the Packers have been struggling to find wins this season, this one at home should be a blowout and it’s important for Aaron Rodgers to go out and make a big statement and take care of business to try and gain some momentum for the rest of the season.

Pick: Packers

Panthers vs Buccaneers

Tampa Bay is horrible and even though the Panthers haven’t been playing very well and are coming off of a tough loss last week at home to Seattle, I can’t see them losing to this train wreck that is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the moment, even though this is a road game. Plus, Christian McCaffrey has been great as of late and should continue that against the bad Tampa Bay defense.

Pick: Panthers

Late games

Chiefs vs Raiders

The Chiefs will certainly have some adjusting to do on offense with the release of Kareem Hunt, but that shouldn’t play a factor this week. The Raiders are horrible and the Chiefs are coming off of a bye and should be able to score as many points as they want against this Raiders defense. This one could get really ugly.

Pick: Chiefs

Jets vs Titans

The Jets quarterback situation is not good right now and that’s a bad sign with them having to go on the road to face one of the better defenses in the league. While the Titans offense isn’t great to say the least, they should be able to do enough to beat this Jets team at home with how good their defense has been this season.

Pick: Titans

49ers vs Seahawks

Seattle has played really well this season since starting off 0-2 and a big key to that has been the running game. It has taken pressure off of Russell Wilson, who has also played really well. Nick Mullins has come down to earth since his debut against the Raiders and with the Seahawks playing for playoff positioning, Seattle should take care of business here.

Vikings vs Patriots

This should be a great game. Seeing this Vikings defense go on the road to face Tom Brady and the Patriots should be really fun. This game will come down to the wire and in my opinion it’ll come down to the quarterbacks and with it being a home game for the Patriots, I just trust them to be able to make one more big play and find a way to win, but this game really could go either way.

Pick: Patriots

Sunday Night Football

Chargers vs Steelers

On paper this is a really good game. It is disappointing that Melvin Gordon won’t be playing in this one. Pittsburgh is coming off of a rough loss last week at Denver and they will need to win this game if they want to try and get that first-round bye in the AFC playoffs. This game will be important for seeding, but with it being a home game for Pittsburgh and with no Melvin Gordon, I think the Steelers will win. Gordon just does too much for the Chargers offense and his production will be really tough to replace.

Pick: Steelers
