Four-star wide receiver Darren Jones commits to Utah

Darren Jones is a freak. He’s listed at 6’8″ and yes, you read that right. Despite his abnormal height for a receiver, he’s actually pretty nimble and isn’t a guy who just goes out and wins jump balls. It’ll be interesting to see how he translates to division one football.

Four-star athlete Cam’Ron Kelly commits to Auburn

Kelly is a former Virginia Tech commit. He projects better at defensive back despite being listed as an athlete. He should fit in nicely to what has become a pretty good Auburn defense year-in and year-out.

Four-star outside linebacker Mohamoud Diabate commits to Florida

There’s a lot to like with Diabate. He will need to add weight, but he has the frame to do that. Other than that, he is very good in pass rushing. He uses his hands well to keep blockers off of him, has an explosive first step and he has a really high motor.

Four-star athlete Tamauzia Brown commits to TCU

Brown is a shifty player that is likely going to be a wide receiver at the next level. He should be able to be a difference-maker in the TCU offense with his speed and ability to make things happen after the catch.

Four-star JUCO linebacker Jashua Allen commits to Colorado

Allen is a really instinctual player at linebacker. There’s really not anything that he can’t do on a football field. He’s able to drop back into pass coverage really well, he can stop the run, and he rushes the passer really well for someone who plays on the inside. With him also being a JUCO product, he should come in ready to help the Buffaloes right away.

Four-star linebacker Kane Patterson decommits from Ohio State

This is the first defect since the situation at Ohio State regarding Urban Meyer, Zach Smith and Courtney Smith has arose. Patterson is a guy that plays extremely physical and he plays with a relentless motor. It’ll be interesting to see if he’s the only guy that ends up decommitting from the Buckeyes.

2020 cornerback Isaiah Dunson commits to Florida State

Florida state has done a really good job in the last couple of recruiting classes in the secondary, and that continues here. Dunson has really good size and 6’2″ and he has very good ball skills.

2020 defensive tackle Jamil Burroughs commits to Georgia

Ho-hum, another big-time recruit committing to Kirby Smart, this time it’s an in-state prospect. While not being big enough to play nose guard, Burroughs is big enough to line up inside and he is very athletic and nimble despite being 290 LBS. He is really stout against the run and he can rush the passer by using his strength.

Four-star center Kadin Shedrick commits to Virginia

Shedrick is a skilled player that should fit pretty well into the UVA system under Tony Bennett. He will need to add weight before he becomes a big-time player at the college level though.

Four-star wing Jaykwon Walton flips from Mississippi State to Georgia

Big recruiting victory for Tom Crean here. Walton is a really versatile player that can score the ball in a number of different ways, and he is very athletic and has good size.

Four-star center Zach Freemantle commits to Xavier

Xavier stays hot on the basketball recruiting trail, this time by getting a center who is very skilled and fundamentally sound. He also is really well put together and is a strong finisher for a big who is going into his senior year of high school.

Four-star combo guard Brenden Tucker commits to College of Charleston

What a great pick up for Earl Grant and College of Charleston. Tucker is a very athletic guard that can really attack the basket and is able to finish very strongly and with some flare.
