Jake Ryan has a torn ACL

Packers linebacker Jake Ryan is going to miss the entire 2018 season with a torn ACL. Ryan was injured yesterday during practice and it hasn’t taken very long for the worst news the Packers could’ve gotten to be confirmed.

Ryan has started 27 out of his 43 career games and he has 213 tackles. The timing of this injury couldn’t have been worse for Ryan as he is entering the final year of his rookie deal.

It seems like the Packers are always dealing with injuries, especially on defense and now they’ll need to find a replacement to play on the inside with Blake Martinez.

Patriots work out Eric Decker

Yesterday the Patriots worked out veteran wide receiver Eric Decker. With Julian Edelman coming off of an ACL injury and with the losses of Danny Amendola and Brandin Cooks, the Patriots could use some receiver depth and Decker would be a good option.

Decker has three seasons of over 1,000 yards and one season of just under 1,000 and he was a solid contributor last season for the Titans after coming off of an injury-riddled 2016.

Another factor is the four-game suspension of Edelman, but that obviously isn’t a long-term concern but they will need someone to fill that void early in the season.

Seahawks battling some injuries

Seattle is one of the teams that could really go either way this season and now they are dealing with some critical injuries early in camp.

The first is wide receiver Doug Baldwin. Head coach Pete Carroll has said that Baldwin will miss a few weeks with a knee injury. This is a concern because it would seem like if it were a small injury he wouldn’t miss a few weeks, but we’ll have to wait and see on the severity of his injury.

The other important injury is defensive end Dion Jordan. Jordan is slated to be a starter for the team and he seems to have finally gotten his career on somewhat of a straight path. He was of course a top pick, but he has been suspended a number of times for violating the league’s performance enhancing drug rules. Carroll is calling his injury a  “stress issue,” but is unrelated to the knee surgery he had this off season.
