Vita Vea leaves practice with an injury
Tampa Bay first-round pick, defensive tackle Vita Vea, was carted off the field yesterday with a leg injury. At first this was obviously concerning for Tampa Bay as their first-round pick is expected to be an opening day starter.
The good news for the Buccaneers however, is the injury doesn’t appear to be serious and it sounds like it could just be a strained calf. If that’s what the injury ends up being that’ll be a huge relief for Tampa Bay.
Hue Jackson impressed with Baker Mayfield
Baker Mayfield was of course the number one overall pick by the Cleveland Browns in this years draft, but with Tyrod Taylor on the roster a fair amount of people expected Taylor to be the opening day starter, with no real timetable for when Mayfield is going to start.
Hue Jackson has said that Mayfield is exceeding his expectations though and he loves his attitude towards the work that he’s had to put in so far. He says he’s came in very humble and knows that he’ll have to put in the work to succeed in the NFL and that he and Tyrod Taylor have bonded so far during camp.
